Default tach and GPH gauges reading funky

My tachs and GPH gauges are reading funky. port tach bumps "counterclockwise" when turned to on position, and when engine starts and is revved it doesn't move. GPH gauge is reading maxed out as soon as the key is in the on position. I'm getting 12 V across the terminals on the gauges.

I have tried disconnected battery terminal wires to "reset" them per a FAQ I found for Faria gauges, but no change.

Really weird part is that my GPH gauge is one gauge for both engines...it defaults to read port engine and I have to press and hold a switch to read starboard GPH, but as soon as I turn the starboard key to the on position, it reads maxed out.

Anyone ever see anything like this? Does it sound like bad gauges or an electrical issue?

Are you getting 12v+ or -?. If you have a bad ground or something is hooked up incoreectly or missing you may have backflow through your gauges.

Edit : Yes, indeed, I did manage to spell "incorrectly" incorrectly. Backflow made me do it. :D
