Just thought I would give you all my early impressions of my new unit. I installed the unit and transducer myself without too much hassle. Tried it out only two times on the water, but the last time we were jigging for stripers and the only time we hooked up was when we had fish symbols on the screen. Needless to say I was very happy with that test. I can't really comment on the accuracy of WAAS or the GPSMAP in general yet, but so far everything looks real good. Also, I have been able to read bottom at all speeds including WOT.

I have 188C just installed and bottom readings at all speeds and great contour and definition.

This is a great unit....

ps gpsdiscount.com had best price with tri-ducer, but Boatersworld matched their price.

27' Stratos CC twin 200 Johnsons.

Landlubber , I have the 50/200 transom ducer with temp. One thing I did notice was that I was getting temp readings at about 39 degrees on the day I was out and from other people's reports I think the actual water temp might have been about 5 degrees warmer. I'll have to watch this next season to make sure it's not a defect.

i have same setup as you. had thought about thru-hull, but sort of silly for such a small boat.

i'm just getting it up and running, will keep you posted.
