Seashore:

Here's just one of amny great reviews I've found on these units: http://www.wmi.org/sql_messages_html...cs.ini&no_nav=

That said, my 2 fishing pals and I each bought one. We liked the resolution and features and shallow water reading capability. We're fishing in less than 100' of water so we don't need a dual frequency unit.

If one fishes in deep water, 300' and over, then the dual frequency LS 6100 by Furuno is a great choice - rated #1 in fishfinders for the $400 and less market. They won't read the bottom once around 3-4' feet though and we're on tidal estuaries, so we need that performance.

Note - the Eagle & Lowrance units come out of the same factory and use same parts. The Lowrance units have some fancier software, like that of the X87 that adds a flasher feature into the unit, otherwise it is identical to the FM 320, albeit $90 more.

Hope this helps ! BTW - do another search on that WMI Electronics board and you'll see more positive info on them.

FYI - You can download an emulator at www.eaglesonar.com and see how it works right on your PC screen!

... just remember to hold your cursor over the "PWR" button and click&hold it until the emulator shuts off ... darn thing works just like the REAL thing ... but no fish under my work desk

I'm very satisfied with mine. Easy to use and the resolution is incredible.
