Having started looking at them. for the dollar they are top's but ....I've been advised to use the Vhf they supply as a Backup and go with the Icom 502 for your main unit.... But the closed array coupled with the 7 inch Radar, Raychart,
This Value Pack consist of the following:
RL70CRC 7" Daylight Viewable Pathfinder Radar display with built in Raychart electronic charting
Raystar 120 Satellite differential GPS SeaTalk antenna/sensor
DSM250 hsb2 Digital Sounder Module with High Definition Fish Imaging Technology
Ray53 Compact yet powerful 25 watt DSC VHF with oversized LCD display and controls
This is a awesome Package. you will definitely need a C-Map NT chart for your area at $200. Make sure you select an NT+ SuperWide chart. Allot of coverage on those.
Yes, you also need the KVH Autocomp 1000 (for ~$400) to connect to you RL70CRC. As mentioned, that allows you to do the Radar overlay. Without it, everything works, but you can't overlay the radar data onto chart. I'd suggest getting it. Your still under $5k. Good to go. [Wink]

John don't forget you'll need a transducer for the DSM250.

I picked up a 7" Value last winter. I did not need the radar; but got two C-Map chips, DSM250 and the ducer. Great package. This DSM250 is first freeg'in FF that works in auto-mode better than manual. I lost signal once on the GPS; but my back-up continued to work. I could not get the unit back-up; but since we were almost at the end of a 120 mile trip to Montauk I just turned it off. The next morning it came on and has worked fine ever since. I loose the bottom at anything over 18kts on my 35Bertram. The lifting strakes aerate the hull and the deep-v compounds the problem. When you angle-cut the ducer block you have to runout on one side to get the angle. I need a spacer to get the ducer down about another inch or two. Another winter project.
