Default Flush mount electronics cover

I am setting up a new boat with flush mount electronics and was wondering if anyone may have an idea on how to put a cover over them. My main concern is heavy rain and to keep the electronics locked and out of site when not in use. An ideal setup may be like an overhead electronics box where the cover springs up in place when in use and covers and locks when not in use? Any idea's?

Thanks, Jim

The uper electronics box has a 3/4" Starboard for mouting electronics to. The same for the console. The plexiglas/lexan doors close over the electronics when not in use. Of course, there under a T-top; no rain or spray hits the units. I also have the GPS/Depthsounder mounted in a NAVPOD on the console. I have the Radar, GPS/Plotter, and VHF...right in my 'face'. Hope this helps.

boathouze...I made a templet out of 1/4" hardboard from the paper patterns supplied with most electronic. I then used carpet tape (double sided) to attach the pattern to the Starboard. I then routed the Starboard to size...rough out with a jigsaw first. The electronics box is standard option with BW. I screwed a 3/4" x 3/4" ledge (also Starboard) all around the inside of the box to screw the Starboard to. I take both panels out for storage in the winter. I made sure the Starboard panel were recessed in far enough so the plexiglas/Lexan cover would still cover the whole box/panel without interfering. The NAVPODS are great too, very high quality.
