Default Koden 3630 any good?

I have a used koden 3630 (36nm) radar that came with my boat. I have not used it as of yet it looks like it needs some things here and there. I fired it up today at home and it seems to function well enough except that the directional buttons on the bottom dont work it appears. Can this be fixed? Is it worth it? I know new radars are expensive (as far as I am concerened) any info is helpful

I doubt it can be cost effectively fixed. I had a Koden fish finder. Had the same problem and couldn't find anyone that could get parts to fix it. Good luck

I don't have personal experience with any koden electronics.

The company I am doing computer work for currently does lots of electronic work on boats.

They mostly deal with Furno.
Texas is a long way from you, but if you only want parts, send me a note. Maybe some of the relationship managers could help you.

I just wish I had a radar unit... It was mighty foggy on GOM NY day.

thanks Mike, I actually sprayed and cleaned the buttons. I took apart the display and was able to get to most everything I needed to. It works fine now. BUT for how long. you know one other thing is I was told that this is a great unit,. by several local guys. Is this true? Are these really that good? oh Mike since you offered on the display is a button panel, it has all the soft touch buttons and three knobs. From inside you can see that this is all on one board. this is the board I want to replace if I can. If it is not a big problem could you find outhow much something like that would go.

Thank you.

re koden radar you may want to explore the possibility that this unit may be a sitex "clone"
as it appears to me that some european koden units also appear in the u.s. badged sitex.
happy hunting , regards mick
