I had an offer of a good deal on a Humminbird Matrix 65 from my regular marine store. How does it work in terms of being a fishfinder, GPS and reading charts - sort of 3 in 1. I do all my boating and fishing within the Strait of Georgia in British Columbia, Canada. Hopefully this small unit will consolidate all the features into one and free up more valuable space in a small cabin cruiser. Thank you.

Thom

What would you think on the above posting. Been posted since Dec 05, 2003 and no response so far. Humminbird has been making fishfinder for decades and I have owned a few since 1984. Gave me a lot of pleasure in locating the structure where the fish congregate. Wondering if it is not well received in your area?

Cookie - I'ved used one and it works just fine, up to par for your standard black & white combo unit. One negative: chart card door is screwed shut and needs to be opened w/a screwdriver, instead of just popping open & closed like most.
