Default Garmin GPSMAP 238

I just found this website and it looks like a great place and I'll be a regular here. Thanks for all the great info guys. Here's my question:

1. Anyone have anything positive or negative to say about this unit?
-How accurate is the fish finding of this unit?
-Is it worth the money?
-Any problems with the unit?
2. Any opinions on dual GPS and fish finding electronics?
-Are two single units better than one?
-Good, bad or indifferent.

Default Garmin GPSMAP 238

I decided on the 238 after much consideration, and it works well for me. Main consideration was the large screen size (7.1 " diagonal) and Garmin's reputation. I wanted a display I could easily see while sitting at the stearn controlling the kicker as I mainly troll for salmon.

Initially wanted to go with seperate units after considering thoughts from this forum, but space was an issue on my Seaswirl 2101 DC. Garmin GPS and Fururo FF were my favorites. Made cardboard cutouts of the units and tried different placements. Decided on dual unit. I've been happy with the performance of both GPS and FF (with Airmar P79 transducer). Realistically it has more features than I can effectively use. Definitely go with the Blue Chart software, as the basic mapping features show very little detail. Hope this helps. Feel free to email me if you have more questions.
