Default lowrance lcx16

bought this unit new when they were closing out the model last winter. since i live in michigan i just had it installed on the boat. the screen reads completely upside down on both sonar and gps. cant return it because the refund time is up and the transducer is all hooked up n the boat. any ideas or should i just ship it back to lowrance. am very disappointed because this is a brand new unit and i have to get it repaired w/o ever using it. also i boat in an area when i need my sonar due to shallow water. does anyone know if lowrance gets these units back to you in a timely manner. one more thing it doesnt seem right that i should have to pay to ship it to lowrance plus insure it when it is defective out of the box

This is so obviously a manufacturing defect that I would think Lowrance might take care of it even though the warranty may have expired since you couldn't have used it in this condition. You should call them at 1-800-324-1356 and explain the situation. They may even send you a UPS call tag to pay for shipping if you ask for one. Lowrance is very good about returns, they often give you a discount on upgrades at the same time. My unit also occasionaly has this problem, I retighten the connections, a lite slap on the side and it clears up right away. Don't recommend this but it did work for me.

This upside down problem was with some of the earlier units when the unit assemblers in Mexico put in the screens the wrong way. Lowrance fixed this by notching the screens on one side so they can only be installed the correct way.

You will love your unit once you get it swapped or fixed.

called lowrance yesterday. was on hold for a long time. after i spoke with cust service i found them helpful. sent unit to them via ups hoping to get it back very soon. will update
