Default Feed back on a Starndard Horizon CP170 (GPS/Chartplotter)

Hi folks,
I'm currently comparing the Garmin 182c to the Standard Horizon CP170. I have read lots of comments on the Garmin but not much on the CP170. If anyone owns a CP170 I would appreciate any feedback and price. Thanks for your help.

I have 170, purchased when they came out. Works great easily viewable and the cmap info is EXCELLENT. Lots of software features. Matter of fact I like this unit so much I just removed it yesterday from my old boat to be installed next week on the new boat!

Plus great support from standard horizon.
JUST BUY IT!

I have to agree with Traffic Lawyer.
I also have the 170 (Got it when it dropped to $999) and I could not be happier. Contact C-MAP and get the 2.27 Software upgrade (If your system does not have it) and get the C-MAP NT + chip for your area. The display is far brighter then anything else in it's class, and single buttons allow you to program things to match what you want.
It is far quicker then almost everything else out there, and the night settings are Optimal for darkness.
Now, IF I had only waited for the new big one.

Oh well.

Thanks for the feedback guy's. Irish, I agree with your comments of brightness and speed, that's what caught my eye. The larger model is sweet but $$$$$$$$...

Mr. Irish:

My wife paid $1400.00 when the 170 first came out. I have upgraded the firmware since than. It will be installed in the 255 next week!
