Default CP-500 Question

I recently purchased a Standard Horizon CP-500 from BOE Marine and it works great, but does not have any detail to speak of (depths, bottom contours, rocks, etc.). I thought it would be like my paper charts and show all the detail, so what do I need to make it show detail?

Thanks,

Mark.

You need to buy a Cmap chip. Boe sells them for less than you can order one from Cmap. When did you buy it? I tried buying one recently and Boe and everyone else was out of stock.

I lose track of time but I think it was about three months ago that I bought the CP500. Its been installed for a while, but I was doing a lot of other work to the boat, so I just got a chance to get out and use it this past week.

Concerning the chip. It seems there are a bunch of different brands, and even different chips offered by C-MAP. The one I found that sounded good is called "C-Map Max Fishing Contour Charts." I found one for Alaska on the C-MAP site, but I don't see it on BOE. And then there are all those other chips. How do I know what to buy?

Thanks,

Mark.

Sorry, this http://www.boemarine.com/Products/NA...D/Default.aspx is a hard one to find...

http://www.c-map.com/chartcatalogue/... North America use the last bit of the part number to search for this chart.

We have this Alaska card in stock http://www.boemarine.com/Products/NA...D/Default.aspx

We are working to make this a more user-friendly search function soon!

Tripp,

Any idea when you'll have this chip in stock? It looks to have the best detail of them all.

Thanks,

I can probably have this with a 5-10 day window, then delivered to you...

Just wanted to mention that the NA-M820 Fishing Contour Chart is desgined for off shore fishing and does not contain navigation aids.

The NA-M028 will contain all aids to navigation that are found on the NOAA charts for the region.

Tripp,

What is a good time to call? I am in Alaska, so i think I am 4 hours earlier than you. I want to talk specifics on these (and/or others) chips.

Thanks,

Mark.
