Default Garmin 240 blue?

Guys, I am in the market for a new fishfinder for my soon-to-arrive Key west 1720. I have researched online and done searchs on here and am thinking that for the $$$ the Garmin 240blue would be best for me. (currently $239.00 with speed/temp. 'ducer) I, like anyone would prefer color but don't want to spend big bucks for it, and also I know the Furuno units are tops but once again, a little too pricey for me. Anyway my question is for anyone that has the 240, what do you think of it, like it, etc....? Does anybody know of a 200-300 dollar machine that may be better for the $$$. My previous was a hummindird wide optic so I'm sure the Garmin will be a step up from that...
Thanks for any feedback

Default Garmin 240 blue?

budysr,

I have had my 240 Blue for 14 months. I had one issue that required shipping it back to Garmin. The repair was fast and accurate. Mine came with the Aimar P66 transom transducer. I have been very pleased with the unit. I fish fresh and salt water. It holds bottom very good and helps me catch fish !

I have the 240 Blue also. I do loose bottom readings sometimes, especially if the water is very muddy. Overall I'm happy with the unit.
