I've just installed a Boater's World close-out special RL70RC. Everything was new except the display which will not power up. I have 12 volts to the back of the display. Is there an internal fuse? thanks

Not that is serviceable by you. Send it to Raymarine for service.

Jagsare,

Are you STILL whining about your raymarine troubles? I've had my RL70C and L760RC and Raystar120 for 2 years and love them. When I first got them there was an issue with fog in the screens. I sent them in with free shipping thanks to BoatUS and had them back in a week. Their tech support guys are quick to answer the phones and professional and knowledgeable. Of course if someone calls them up and gives them a hard time they're probably less motivated to help.

Dixie Pirate,

Give their tech support a call at 800-539-5539. I'm sure that they'll take good care of you.

I have been using Rayxxxxxx for many years. Never a problem. Good tech support too. I just powered up my new RL70C. Don't get insulted; but did you hook up the red wire to 12V and the Black to a good ground? Sounds like I would ask Boater's World to replace the unit. Anyway if you do go to RayMarine they will fix fast and get it back to you. Good Luck

Raymarine and Icom, fishermans best friends. Sent a unit to Raymarine last year, they had it back with four days and didn't even have to pay shipping.

Thanks for the replies. After getting what I considered a run around by my local Boater's World and not much better from Raymarine, I called Boater's World in Atlantic Beach. No problem, new unit is on it's way. thanks again

And the key here guys, is, the unit was NOT brand new. Somebody sold him an old used broken unit.

Anywho, I've had great experiences with Raymarine. In fact, I just sent my RL70CRC in for an upgrade, I overnioghted it to them, and they overnighted it back to me. I sent it Monday morning, I had it back Wed morning.

By the way, the new software on these units is INCREDABLE!!!! If you havne't upgraded your units to the latelse software and hardware, DO IT!!! Well worht it!! The chart text now stays rightside up regardless if your head-up or not, better colors, better bottom contours, faster chart display, keeps boat in a set spot and moves charty around the boat (remember how the boat woud slowlyu go off the chart, and you had to hit "FindShip" to redraw? no more..)..,....
