Default Recom/comments wanted: depth sounder w/GPS

or two separate units mounted on console. Will be used mostly for inland bass fishing with depths to 100'. Also, color or not? Don't want to be a "scrouge" on electronics. Thanks.

This would be an easy choice for me, but somehow I've got it in my head that you have a 17 foot CC boat with a T-top. Is that correct?

I'd go for absolute overkill. No kidding. I'd get a Garmin 2010C, hook that up to their black box sounder and then I'd connect it all to a B-256 transducer from Airmar. Then pickp the BlueChart for your neck of the woods. You will be able to count the scales on bottom fish and have a plotter that looked like a glossy paged Atlas. Utter overkill and it would be wonderful.
