Default Garmin 4208 and 4212

Why is my boat symbol pointing about 15 degrees to the left of my actual track line..The same on both units, seems to have started with latest software, 5.9..Anybody else with this problem..

There is a configuration setting that set up how your boat symbol is displayed. It's called "Heading" and it's with the units of measure settings I think.

Typically this would be set to Heading: Auto mag Var. The other possible choices are "True", "Grid", and "User mag var".

I'd suspect that the update you did left this setting different than it was before the update.

Normally "Auto mag var" would be the one to select unless you have some reason to set it otherwise.

Do you have a Heading sensor installed (KVH 1000) OR do you have an Auto Pilot installed? If either, then you need to calibrate it. The heading sensor is what tells garmin what direction to point the boat.
