Default Furuno 600L to Furuno 1650DF

Did a search thinking I would find the answer, but nada....

I'm trying to hook up the NMEA on my 600L and 1650DF. The Furuno manuals are useless. If I were an electronic technician, they may work OK, but I'm not quite there. Matter of fact, I am terrible when it comes to electronics.

Can anyone tell me how they connected the NMEA on their 600L and 1650. I'm sure there are others who have this setup. It should be simple, but I can see nothing in either install manual telling me what color to hook to what. I have NMEA 6 pin cables for both the 600L and the 1650, and a NMEA bus bar installed to interface them (and to enable me to interface a radar and RD-30 display when I get them). I've got the position data going from the 1650 to the Standard VHF, via the bus bar, with no problem (the Standard manual is plain and straightforward, just like it should be). The bus bar is a simple 5 position twin bar deal. Typical bus bar from West Marine.

How can I display soundings on the 1650 and navigation/position data on the 600L? What wire goes to what wire? Is it like color to like color, as one would assume it to be? Also, are there any settings on either unit that I need to check? It just ain't workin with what I've tried so far. Help!!!
