Can anyone describe the connection using Seatalk. Does it splice into the half moon connector?

Do I need a special cable?

You should get a data cable with a data plug on one end and 5 wires and another plug on the other end. Splice the red, yellow and black to the seatalk cable.

With seatalk you can either splice or use their junction block. The Junction block has a few half moon sockets in it, and it willl require you to splice a half moon seatalk plug onto the S1000 anyway. With seatalk, if you have 2 or 3 or 4 or however many devices you can pretty much take the reds from each and connect them to each other in one place (splice), and same with the blacks and yellows. Doesn't seed to be fancy.
