Default would someone kindly check this wiring schedule for me?

Garmin 3005 to garmin gps17 antenna to ICOM M304

3005 orange to 17 yellow
3005 green to 17 blue
3005 white to 17 white
3005 blue to ICOM yellow
3005 brown not used

3005 red to pos
3005 black to neg
17 red to pos
17 black to neg
ICOM red to pos
ICOM black to neg
ICOM green to neg

go back to the manuals. i think you will find that the icom is a direct hookup to the gps17. at least my 2010c and 502 were. dealer hooked up to the 2010c -- i got no info for dsc until i checked the wiring and saw it was wrong. ron

ICOM manual shows yellow as NMEA +, and green as NMEA -
garmin manual says use port 4 for gps 17 and port 1 for VHF...port 1 on gps is blue/brown

???

i called up your manual. apparently, the technical writers have gotten better. the detail is showing the (+) TX and RX for each port. the ground (-) is shown as a single power/data ground. so, it looks as though you would attach Blue TX (from 3005 which would be +) to Yellow (which should be RX) on ICOM. Green would go to Black. take a look at the third diagram on page 7 of the manual. it is for an AP, but more importantly it shows one way communication. hope it helps, ron
