Default Raymarine SL760 or L760???

Ok so I bought a 2003 300 sig. The dealer says the gps it comes with is a ray marine SL760 but I can't find any info on it. I did find a L760 but I'm not sure if it's the same? Does anyone have any info or knowledge on this gps??? Tried calling raymarine and it's like getting ahold of the president. Thanks

www.raymarine.com - click on customer support then owners manuals in the drop-down menu. I think you should find them under legacy products.

sl760 was a l760 without the hsb port active, so a single station only unit, operation would be the same a a l760

Yep, download the manual from the RM site under legacy or "no longer supported products" area. I had the RL70crc, same thing but with Radar also....

what do you want to know?

Birdman, not to steal this thread but I bought a boat a few months back with this unit and Pathfinder radar. Did you ever have a problem zooming in less than 3nm? It was working fine and now it doesn't.

Thanks Rudy

hmmmm... yes, I remember having that issue, it has to do with a setting somewhere if I recall....can't remember what setting, but I do remember seeing that and having to change something. Been 3 years, sorry. The memory isn't as good as it was.

Check the Charts being displayed, I think you might have the "Base Map charts" turned on (a very basic set of maps pre-loaded on the unit), instead of only using the external Cmap charts.

yeah my friends wouldn't zoom any closer than 3 miles in for "birds eye view"...and that was with the Cmap installed. You had to have the Cmap to even get it to zoom to 3miles...without it was really far out...maybe my friend didn't know what he was doing???
