Default Garmin 4212 to Raypilot 650

I just installed a Gamin 4212 and a 4210 with everything else, radar, gsd 22, etc. However I kept the Raypilot 650. I wired the Garmin units directly to the 650. It works but has a hard time following the track when I plot a course on the Garmin and have the auto pilot follow. It follows the course mostly but bounces back and forth. I end up with constant zig zags. I did the same thing on my last boat ( same equipment) and had the same problem. I was told once that there was some sort of interface device that would take care of this problem. Does anyone know about this? Is this a commmon problem? Or is it something else that is causing the problem?
