Default lowrance lms 350a Upgrade question

I Just bought a boat that came with a non functioning Lowrance 350A fish finder. I am wondering if I can buy a new (color) fish finder and use the same transducer? Are any of the new FF compatible with transducers of this era? If the best bet is to swap out the entire system will it be easy to replace the old transducer? I have never removed one. Are they screwed into the hull or am I going to be up against 5200? Finally if I replace the Ducer will I be able to reuse the exhausting transducer cable? I have a fly bridge and would like to simplify the project...

You would be better off investing in a new unit. If not mistaken the 350A operated @ 192 kHz, new ones operate at 50, 83, and 200.

If you get a new locator you should try to use the new ducer and power cord. A ducer wears out over time as its essentially a moving part.

Chris
What about the cable running from the transducer to the unit? Should I replace that too?

When you pull the old one out tie a string to it and then you will have your chase string to pull the new ducer through. I replace everything......
