No answers. The reason is that I for one am not sure what your question is. I think you are asking two questions about two different electronic appliances. To the best of my knowledge the AP 11 does not have the ability to "place the curser on a require position" - that can only be done when using a chart plotter, and you have to tell the chart plotter to "go to."

Now - care to re-phase your question?

If you have the AP-11 interfaced with your plotter you first need to select a destination on the plotter (via cursor or waypoint) then hit the "mode" button on the AP-11 (assuming you just turned it on and it's in STBY-COM mode) to select STBY-NAV. Make sure that the boat is approximately on the correct heading, then hit the STBY-AUTO button and the autopilot should take over and take you to the waypoint.

You will have to have an active "go to" route running for the STDBY-NAV to show up and allow you to choose "Auto-NAV" by hitting the PWR button. The course may wander a bit as the active bearing line is updated and the boat is brought onto course. Just be sure you are on the right approximate course or you may be surprised by a hard turn when you confirm the course change...I only use the GPS interface when running offshore for a good distance, otherwise I stick with the compass headings.
