Default New Electronics

Hello All, I'm having a hard time selecting a new electronic system, It is going to be installe on a Proline 23 Sport, in the box located right in front the the instrument panel, the size is 24' long, 10" deep and 9 inches tall, so I have some considerale room to work with. I will be fishing in the Gulf of Mexico and some times taking it to the Keys and East coast of Florida. I was thinking about the Furuno 582l for the FF, and not sure what else to go with it, I would maybe be interested in a radar, chartplotter, gps combo, if at the right price, could anyone give me some answers.

Took out my chrystal ball but it was no more help than your post

What is your budget?
How small a screen are you willing to accept?
What do you see as being essential versus nice to have?

I was going to use a oui-gee (spelling) board to try to see what you wanted but my bud is using it to determine where the fish are

The guys and gals are great here but you have not reached the PSYCHIC forum here

This is a update to the first message, I have budgeted for new electronics, 3K to 4K and I would like to try and stay with a 6-7 inch screen, I would also like to have aleast 2 different units, one for the FF and the other for GPS, Plotter. I would of course be interested in a radar unit if I can find one at a good price. I'm going to use it on a center console so it needs to be good daylight and in sunny conditions, I hope this clears things up a little. Thanks.

Pretty much everyone that fishes the Gulf will aggree that a FCV 582L is to much machine for the water. The 600L w/thru-hull is an excellant choise; and you saved money.

Garmin 2010c seems to be the choice of the masses.

Sorry can't help you here.

Icom would be the hot ticket here I guess. Maybe something along the lines of the M402 or M502.

Now this will keep you in your buget range with really nice equipment , but, this package is not addressing any back up needs - maybe some hand helds?

Once bitten, twice shy

Is to large, go for the 2006C.

It will also save you a couple fo bucks!

Have the 2010C myself, and it is GREAT.

veiwability in Direct Sunlight is not a problem either, and I have it mounted in my C/C behind a Lexan Glass Door and can see it clear as day.

Good luck in your choices!
