Okay..did all my asking, searches, etc. and made up my mind on the best gps/fishfinder/miracle worker for me. NOW, which company ships the quickest? Dave's(brokenlegdaves), Boater's World, West Marine, Byownerelectronics, ?? I know what THEY say, what do YOU say? I could order today. Thanks for all the input..this has been a great forum.

Top two shippers in this order:

1. Consumers Marine
2. Consumers Marine

EVERY order I've EVER placed with them was at my office the next morning BEFORE I was. No kidding.

But I'd order from Yacht Jim (ByOwnerYachts), he's also fast, cheap and great customer service.

PS- FORGET West marine and BoatUS, you'll be lucky if you EVER get it!!

Dave at Brokenlegdave.com will confirm availability via e-mail and, if he has it he ships the same day. (If you order before 3:00pm)

He doesn't charge tax or shipping so I saved a fair amount on top of what I thought was a very good price. I live in Connecticut and his warehouse is in NJ so I got it the very next day via UPS ground. You might be looking at a shipping charge if you're far away (which I'm guessing you may be based on your name...)

And no, I don't know him, we're not related... :-) but I should mention that because I was ordering several items he gave me a slightly lower price based on the 'package'.

It depends on where you live and where their shipping depot, or the one they will be using, is located compared to you. I can get stuff from Boat US the next day almost every time because their warehouse is about 100 miles from here. West marine is sometimes a 1 days shot for me from their South Carolina warehouse. Consumer Marine is always a 2-day trip to my house. Of course I'm lucky in that 3-Rivers Marine Electronics is just about an hour and a half away and its always nice to see Clint and Cindy. I've used a bunch of the other smaller outfits too, I usually figgure them for 3 days and am rarely disapointed.

The point is that most of them are automated to the extent that if you get your order in early enough they will ship the same day, West Marine's cutoff is 2:00 PM in the east, for instance. I think Consumer works on the 2-O'Clock cutoff too. After that its a matter of how far the truck has to drive

I ordered a Garmin 320C from http://www.byownerelectronics.com and my father had it the next day via UPS in NJ. He had the best price out there too....

It all comes from the same place folks, pretty much no matter who you order it from. If it's out of stock one place, you can bet it is out of stock somewhere else. There are a few exceptions of course. Anybody that orders from us (or most companies for that matter) that lives in Jersey, PA, MD, or NY will get it the next day, add another day for the surrounding states, etc.

Like all kids, when I decide I want a new toy, I want it yesterday.
To that end I will usually pony up the extra bucks and have my toy
shipped next day air.....

I use byownerelectronics.com and received my order the next day. Plus, Jim was very accommodating in helping with special shipping arrangements and he supports the forum. Why go elsewhere if he has what you need?

It's getting close to Vendor Time

What's that mean, the vendors have to ship us all new stuff for free?

It's really not a fair question. bajafisher neglected to post where HE lives. The answer is if they have it in stock and you order it in the morning and they are close to your house. You will get it quicker.

Just a quick question ............... Yacht Jim is a sponsor of the "The Hull Truth", you enjoy the forum, he sponsors the forum you enjoy. He has great prices and fast shipping. Do a search, he has great feedback from people that have dealt with him. Why shop anywhere else????

I would think you would want to support those that support the forum.

Nuff said

I could not agree more myself. I talked about my electronics selections and shipping yesterday with Jim and got very positive results. That's the way to go..even with my particular shipping situation. On the same theme, I just got off the phone with Lowrance Electronics Co. in regards to an old X70a that quit working..the screen went all black lines then shut down altogether...the company is sending me a credit voucher of $400 towards the purchase of a new unit...and the X70a was 8 years old. Pretty good customer satisfaction here...both with Jim's and Lowrance....and of course, this forum.
