Default Raymarine or Furuno radar?

I have decided to add a stand alone CRT radar to a Garmin 2010c on my new boat. What is the preference out there of Raymarine vs Furuno? Price with a 24" radome is basically the same. Thanks again for everyone's help. Bill

My preference goes to Raymarine because they are more userfriendly, but in all honesty my gut says that Furuno is slightly more reliable. So you take your pick. Most Raymarine units never break and most operators figure out their Furuno units and their operation become second nature. In terms of a comparison of their ability to discern targets there is not one single bit of difference between the two on a model-for-model basis.

Your in the right ballpark. Give the boys at www.consumersmarine.com a call, they sell both, and might give you some additional insight. I have Raytheon, it came with the boat.
