Garmin 2006/3006C and Ray C80

If anyone runs the 2006C unit with the GSD20 sonar unit would you mind offering some feedback? What do you honestly think of the unit? ease of use etc?
I am going to purchase a GPS/FF and I'm debating about the 2006C/3006C with sounder or the Raymarine C80 with their 250 sounder. I understand that the Ray software issue has been solved and the unit is great from what I've read.
I have been told by a sales rep that the screen on the 3006 is crisper than the 2006C..comments appreciated. Lots of mixed messages. This unit will be installed in a 21 BW Outrage. To fit in the electronic box the 2006/3006C or the Ray C80 will fit fine. Thoughts....comments. Thanks in advance

I played with the 2006C on a friend's 22 footer for a day or two. I also looked at the Furuno GP1850WF/NT because I too am shopping electronics for a new 22 footer.

The 2006C blue chart impressed me. My friend did a 1200 mile cruise up to Alaska using it and he swears by it. The black box sounder was more than adequate.

The Furuno 1850's black box sounder was, well, Furuno quality. The NT charts were more than adequate.

Bottom line? I fish more than I cruise. The 1850WF/NT is my current choice and may yet be the final choice.

I've never been impressed with RayMarine in the past. Though I've seen their screen and it's definitely bright, it would take some work by non-marketeer type actual users to convince me that their sounder is significantly better than the Furuno. More to the point, they would also have to convince me that performance is worth the price difference, given that we're discussing a 21 or 22 foot single station boat, not a battlewagon.

have taken my friend's wellcraft 252 with a 2006C and gds sounder on a 200 mile round trip to the keys from miami and back - worked flawlessly - split screen is great and unlike Garmin's lesser units, the alpha numeric keypad makes entering waypoint info a lot quicker..

I own a 2010C and 320C FF and the only thing I don't like is the reflective coating is fragile - Garmin has replaced my screen under warranty n/c within the first year...320C is holding up better since I started using a LCD screen cleaner for computer screens and microfiber cloth..
