Default How do I install radar mount on t-top with ridgeline?

I need to install a radar mount on a t-top that is not flat and has a ridgeline down the center. Due to this rigeline there is a void between mount and ttop.

Do I need to fabricate a wedge on each side of the mount? Thinking make it out of starboard. Or can I just use a seam seal or 5200?

It is a 10" mount and I want it to be as sturdy as possible.

I appreciate your feedback.

Interesting .. two different answers!

Glen, how much can be ground before I start eating into fiberglass. I haven't done any fiberglass work before. Though I have done body work with bondo .. imagine it is similar.

Is re-gelcoating something that needs several attempts before it looks good? Can a novice such as myself get it right on the first attempt?

This forum needs a Fiberglass work section!

Thanks Again..

Buy a wedge and grind out a groove in the middle.

How high is the ridge? I'd make spacers to go on either side of the ridge underneath your bracket. If the ridge is only 1/4" or so, I would use plexiglass or lexan because it's waterproof and you can get small pieces cheap at home depot. If it's more than that, I'd use starboard. You may be able to buy some scraps for cheap online. You'll be paying an arm and a leg for even a partial sheet of the stuff.
