Default Transducer cable below water level

I contracted a professional installer to install a Raymarine DS600x with a transom transducer. I noticed the installer located the cable from the transducer to the unit 'below the water line'. The manual clearly states not to do that. He claims it won't be a problem and I will say he is a very competent installer. Has anyone had any problems with the cable going through a hole in the transom drilled below the water line? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

My Transducer is below the waterline on my raymarine c120 and no problems. I think that raymarine states not to have it below the waterline account liability issues. if the install is not good maybe you can have a leak and i think that is why they say to have it installed above the waterline.

It's just common sense. Dont go putting hole in your boat below the waterline.
