Default Choosing Fish Finders

Hello all,

I am considering buying a new fish finder. I have narrowed it down to basically two units. The SeaFinder™ 480DF by Eagle or the Lowrance X126DF.

Knowing that the Eagle is made by Lowrance and the specs are essentially identical, does anyone have comments on why I should go with the Lowrance over the Eagle. The Lowrance is $ 100 more. Both are 200KHZ /50KHZ units. I am going with dual freq. because both of these units have speed and distance logging as standard. I may never need the 50KHZ setting for real deep water but I’ll have the option anyway.

Has anyone use either of these units that would be willing to share your comments (pros/cons).
I am also open to suggestions on other mfg. /models. I primarily trout fish using small Scotty downrigger for trolling.
Thanks!
Bnw

Real back luck with Lowrance.
Me and quite a few others have a real problem recomending them as they don't seem to hold up at all. I would suggest, Garmin 240 blue, Garmin 250, or garmin 320 C in that order for deep or shallow water depending on your budget, or go to Furuno if you have more cash.
I just got rid of the $800 Lowrance MT15 and 2 new transducers that would only read 280´, bought the smaller cheapest 240 blue for $212, and now get 900´feet, and hold bottom.

Let's just hope I didnt waste $2200 on my LCX-104C.

And this 2500' return is not because it's kicked up on me.
