Default My Electronics Finally Installed......

Dropped the Boat off Tuesday to have the Electronics Insatalled.

Picked it up Thursday.

The MAN did a "REAL NICE INSTALL".

Cost me a "PRETTY PENNY".

But I'm "REAL HAPPY".

I was kind of wondering about the height of it.

Thanks, and I think he did a great job with the installation.

Now all I need are the Outriggr Poles!

You may want to replace the night light's mast with the black plastic one. The metal can cause a blackout scan area and the plastic wont. But she looks sweet.

I'm going out tomorrow FINALLY! So I'll get some pics of the electronics on mine.

Did mine myself.
Did a real nice job.
Cost me nothing extra.
I'm real happy with it too.

and also for the little tid bit on a plastic light.

Going to see what I can find in one today.

Congrats on Installing yourself, as I have little Patience for this sort of thing.

Throw some PICS on this thread for others to see too.

Thanks Skeeter.

Put the F/F in the NAVPOD on the Top of the C/C so when I turn to look at it, it is eye level.

The NAVPOD is a good addition.

Rick O who installed my Electronics, said he was "AWED" by the NAVPOD.

He has been Outfitting Boats for many years, and this is the First NAVPOD for him and he was ESTATIC how good a piece of equipment it is.

He said the F/F and the POD where I had him Install it was like Clock Work.

He loved the way the Unit Mounted in it and the Way the POD Sealed up.

And also the Rotation of the Swivel of the Unit.

POMF - Very sharp setup there, good luck with her! How do you like the clear acrylic door on the electronics cab? Do you keep in down when the electronics are on, or must it be up to see the displays?

The reason that I'm asking is that I was thinking of removing mine (when I get the 2300SE in 2 wks) and flush mounting the components in starboard.

Thanks.

I haven't had the chance to run the boat yet, due to Work and Weather.

Hopefully this weekend will be different.

Hopefully, I'll be able to run with the door down, but I have to see if there is going to be a Glare Problem.

If I would have known that I could have gotten a Flush front from the beginning, I would have went that route.

Even if you go the Starboard route, you might want to keep the door on so you can keep your equipment locked.

W/W had a C/C getting the Electronics Installed that way on a 23' D/V C/C like mine, and that is what they did, kept the door on.

The only down side is that they had to cut the front of the console open and take the Piece they cut out and hinge it and put it back on for access to get to the Electronics.

Rick O. who was doing the Install wasn't up on doing it that way, but that was what the customer wanted. Now there's a Big Hinged Door on the front of the Console.

May look TACKY!

Good Luck in your desicion, and thanks for the LOOKING GOOD.

Very nice! enjoy it. I recently installed a Garmin 2006 on my SC and was told by garmin that I had to have the GPS antenna on an extension above the radar. I believe most radars transmit their signal at about 25 degrees...12.5 above and 12.5 below centerline of the antenna and you dont want your GPS in the way or it could get fried. I would think if its out of the way it shouldnt matter if its above or below...but you might want to ask.
Be safe/have fun!

Parkersc and Offshore20.

I'll look into the little tid bit there about GPS Antenna Height Parkersc, and thanks for the tip.

I believe as long as it isn't in the same line of sight, I should be alright.

I had a Professional Outfitter Install everything, and he had said everything should be fine.

Even FURUNO e-mailed me back after I Questioned them about this.

I posted a thread about Antenna Heights, and they told me to either have it above or below one another.

If I find I run into any problems, at least I have some thing to look at to figure it out, right.

Offshore, the boat is Pretty Awsome!

Can't wait to "KICK SOME SEA!"

Spent some time looking where I wanted to mount the Equipment, and that was my FINAL ANSWER. LOL

Thanks again guy's.

Well, finally was able to set the boat in for a couple of hours and take a ride.

Cold as MUTHA F'R on the water!

The Acrylic Window was not a Problem viewing the GPS Screen.

Was able to see it when closed without a Hitch!

POMF - I'm glad to hear that you could see the displays through the "glass". Based on your info, I'll make and install a starboard panel a few inches behind the "glass" to flush mount my instuments. I am still 2 weeks from taking delivery and installing my stuff. Let me know if things change on a bright sunny day - the last couple of days have been overcast in our area.

Thanks again,

Wayne

It was pretty bright out there today.

If you might want to "CHECK IT OUT", let me know, as your not that far from here.

But, I'll keep you posted when I hit the
"HIGH SEA'S" again.

Oh, and by the way, the "COLOR was OUT OF THIS WORLD!"

Was like viewing a a small color tv.

POMF, what brand and model electronics did you install? I see the Furuno radar and I think you mentioned 2060 Garmin. What else?

POMF: Looks Sweet! I just got a T-top and need to mount my antennas. Are your antenna mounts through your canvas on the t-top? If so what keeps it from leaking water? Thanks.
