Default bottom contour software

I was curious if anyone has used bottom contour software and what has been your impression of it. I have looked at Maptech 3-D contour software, but wonder if it is worth the money when trying to identify bottom conditions. Also, are there other brands that would be better for this task?

Thanks for the help.

Default bottom contour software

There are 2 sea bed mapping systems that I am aware of. They create their own real-time bottom profile based on runs over an area. The advantage is that it develops current data instead of relying on old surveys.
MaxSea is is one and the other is the Simrad CM60.
MaxSea I belive is software and the CM60 is with hardware.
