Default Installation tips for electronics box requested

I'm going to be installing a VHF radio in my (fiberglass) electronics box. I'm looking for recommendations on how to run the antenna wire. I was thinking of running it out the side of the box and using a clam shell to cover the hole. Any comments or other suggestions?

I ran mine out of the side of the box. I drilled, installed a rubber grommet and then ran the VHF wire into the box. It's a very tight fit and have not gotten any water get in.

On the other side of the box I have the same set up to get a power wire up from the console to the electronic box and the AM/FM ant.

VHF and Stereo with speakers are in the electronic box and both antenaes are mounted on top of the T-Top.
