Default X-ducer cable/wire got chewed.....

What are the chances of a splicing/heatshrink tube repair job compared to spending the bucks for a whole new cable/unit? The x-ducer in question is from a Sitex 106 color. It has the dual x-ducer. I haven't seen the problem yet. It is on the boat I am going to go look at on Friday. The owner thought a rat or muskrat starting knawing on it. Most x-ducers I have seen are a whole package...can't unplug it from the send/collection unit and replace the wire. It is usually glued or something....Any comments appreciated....thanks.
