Default Distance questions

I have a Standard Horizon GPS, Standard Horizon VHF Radio. Is there any distance requirements for the antenna's? I plan on mounting them on the same side of the boat outside the cabin. Also, can the GPS unit be near the compass? Thanks!

You need at least 3 feet of distance between the antenna and the VHF. There is a chance of feedback if it's less.

My GPS is on the left of the compass, and the fishfinder is on the right. Neither of them affect the compass. Your results may vary.

As we all know, metal things affect compasses so there's always going to be that possibility if anything metal is near a compass.

As for VHF and GPS antenna, the further away the better but 3-4 feet is usually enough.

Cheers, Kerry.
