Default gpsdiscount.com - Ever purchased from them before?

I have a Garmin 182C, and I would like to purchase the power adapter for it. I saw in a post below that someone recommended gpsdiscount.com as a place to purchase the adapter from - they are also $19 less than the Garmin website.

I am not familiar with this company or website, so I was wondering how many of you out there have purchased items from them in the past and were you pleased with the transaction, etc.??

Thanks for the help!

Outstanding...you'll have no problem with them. Great prices, too.

I bought my GPSMAP 188 Sounder from them. Best price I could find and excellent service. I would definitely buy from them again.

Also check out boatfix.com for Garmin accessories. They were a few bucks cheaper still on an extra power cord and on the Blue Chart CD.

Hmm, West would NOT match a price for me ona a radar unit once I told them it was a web company (that also had a real storefront). This was over the phone, not in person so maybe the local managers have more leeway than the phone droids.

fwiw, they had already matched the item and price info until they asked where the quote was from... then the tune changed. Oh well, I got it for the same price, just from a different supplier.

** sigh **

I just completed my first transaction with them--a Garmin 168i. Saved about $60 or so over local retailers. Free shipping because product was over $400, in three days it was at my door. They'll have my business again.

When making big purchases, buying from an out-of-state merchant is something I try to do, to avoid paying tax. Even if the local west marine could match gpsdiscount.com, I would still be paying an extra $100+ in tax for a garmin 2010c.

I just put out $50 for a AC/PC adaptor for a 182 as well.

All of your, (that would be y'alls for the southerners), input helped me get over the hebejebees of using a company I found on a web search engine.

Thanks.

Default gpsdiscount.com - Ever purchased from them before?

I recently used them to purchase a 176C. Have no complaints at all and received the product quickly with a free T-Shirt thrown in. I found their prices to be very good.

But - here is my question. I wanted to get the new Metroguide 5.0 for the 176, but GPS Discount does not have it. They claim to have not received any from Garmin yet - basically implied Garmin was not shipping them. They will sell it for about 80-90 bucks, which beats Garmins' price significantly. However, Garmin has been shipping the product for over a month and claims they have plenty in stock.

Anyone know who is carrying the Metroguide 5.0 at a good price?

Gentleman, I carry all this stuff

I just wish I had about 10 extra hands and a lot more spare time to put it online. If you need anything just call or send me an email and I'll get you a price.

Garmin Metro Guide 5.0: In stock, price is $93 shipped ($86 plus UPS Ground $7)

If you want it just send me an email, it can ship out today if you pay before 2:30 PM.

Hi Jim - I also sent you an email...

I am looking at purchasing the following and hope you can help me:

Standard Horizon Eclipse+ VHF, Black color
plus decent antenna for the above to be mounted on soft T-top (metal brackets under canvas)
Is cable included?

Garmin GPSMAP 176 with Cape Cod area blue chart capabilities
cigarette lighter adapter if not part of package - or can it accept bateries???
also, US road map if it is not too much.
I want to wire to boat power source so is there anything else I need to get it up and running?

garmin 160 blue w/ 'ducer for transom that will do speed and temp. Does a cable come with this???

Thanks,

Guy

Jim- I got the email and it looks good. Some extras I may pass on. My home email is now down, so I will call you from the office tomorrow. You're at 410 604.1600??

Or feel free to email me at:

guy.holbrook@columbiamanagement.com.

I apologize for the email issues - our home computer is on it's last legs and I'd rather put the money into something more productive like boat gear!
