Default What would you buy...........

I am in the process of outfitting a new Parker 21 SE for inshore to near shore(10nm) use and would like some opinions on the best electronics for both my use and available space. I have no real need for a network or radar and nothing can be flush mounted and will need to be installed atop the console (typical Parker "sport"console without the optional electronics box). I have already decided that I will be mounting my vhf inside the console and use a remote mic mounted at the helm.
I am open to both Combo GPS/FF units and separate dedicated units and have been looking at the following so far.

Standard CPF 300i Plotter/FF (also the GPS/plotter model for a dedicated unit, great value)

Furuno GP7000 Plotter/FF

Furuno FCV620 FF

Any input would be appreciated but please keep "my" needs in mind, you can have fun spending it for me but ultimately it will be for my use...

Good choices. Whatever you do, stay away from Garmin.

I have the Furuno FCV620 and Garmin 545S. This is their third year and am very happy with both. I'm a firm believer in having separate units. It's saves a lot of time and hassle going in ond out of different menu pages and such. Of course it all depends on how you use your boat and your budget.

I hear Raymarine might be having issues.

About MulletJupiter's post, I would take it with a grain of salt. He is on a holy Jihad against Garmin. I have used, and still do, a number of their products and am happy with them and their service. Their fishfinders are IMO adequate, but not the best, but I believe their plotters for all around excellence are the best of the consumer electronics.
