Drilling through canvas?

Default Drilling through canvas?

I have a T-top with a canvas top and need to mount the VHF radio antennae.Can anyone help me with the trick of drilling through the canvas so it doesn't rip/fray/snag/etc.?Thanks.

soldering iron - burn thru it....then mini bead of 4200 around hole when mounting

Very nice. Thought I'd get a little jump on it before the wiring guru gets here. Thanks for the answer.

I always painted the area with 5 min epoxy and never had it unravle...

I have always used the soldering iron trick with what ever type of sealant use perfer to use.

Soldering iron, than epoxy around the hole and an inox eyelet.

I use a piece of wood with a nail in it. Cut off the head of the nail and sharpen the end; heat over a propane torch until red hot - then poke thru the fabric and massage the hot nail around the inside of the hole to seal it.
