Default Yet a another combiner Question

I am going with 3 switches, 2 batteries and a combiner. Problem is - The wires on the combiner will not reach each battery. I have one battery on each side of the boat, I would need another foot or so of length. Can I just run them to the terminals on the switch that connects the batteries in parallel? Or somehow lenghten the cables? If I need to lenghten them how should I do it?

thanks

You could do either. It is fine to lengthen the combiner battery leads with the same gage wire or you could go to the two terminals on your emergency parallel switch, good idea actually.

OOPS I take that back - assuming you are using the diagram below you can hook the combiner leads to the two main battery switches at A and B as shown . . . not to the parallel switch
