I have a Lowrance LMS-150 with Sonar, Speed Sensor, etc. It is an older unit and the display screen is starting to go and has some dark vertical lines running through it but otherwise works great.

I am interested in purchasing someone's Loran as long as it is still in good condition with all parts. Send me an email on what you have and what you are willing to sell it for to [email protected]

What in the world do you want a loran for?

A new GPS should allow you to convert your old LORAN waypoints.

Jesse - many, if not most of the bottom #'s that people have are in TD's. The only way to truely convert those numbers are to find them with a loran and save them on their GPS. The "PHANTOM" conversion program that the GPS's use are not accurate enough. Even with calculating and applying the "OFFSET", there is some error. It's the proverbial needle in the haystack - much easier to find with the loran and hit the MOB buttom on the GPS. Ask me - been there, done that. The programs that offer a conversion program are also way off for my area. My new toy should be on the way shortly!

Check out eBay to see the dollars that people will pay for a loran.

About a month or so ago I paid $150 for a hand-held Micrologic SuperSport Loran (circa 1992) in "as is condition". The unit's antenna was shorted, which I had to pay someone $50 to diagnose and fix.

The bottom line is, there's alot of folks out there looking to convert TDs to LL, and the only way to accurately do it is to get there with a loran and save the waypoint on your GPS.
