Cover Center hole and screw holes from Antenna Mount

Now that I will have to relocate my fixed stainless, circular antenna mount with a center hole for the coax and three screw holes for the mount itself, can anyone suggest a suitable round plate, etc to cover the holes on the top in my center console. Basically, I have one hole right in the center where the cable fed through the circular base mount and three small screw holes that attached the mount to the fiberglass. Fiberglass repair for me is not a viable option and I have little room to mount anything other than another circular base antenna mount in the same spot to cover the hole (still leaving a hole on top of the mount. Mounting anything on the antenna mount is also not an option as it is under my T Top.

Cut a piece of starboard to match the top of your console. round the edges over, drill and countersink some mounting holes, and attach it to the surface to cover the holes. You could even make some little rails around the edge to keep things from sliding off.

How about a starboard cupholder.

How about a flush mount compass if you don't already have one?

Thanks for the feedback. Problem is, I only have what was the diameter of the Raystar 120 as space for something else suitable. By my measurement, that means I only have 3 1/2" in diameter of space to deal with. I guess another solution could be to leave the fixed mount (circular base) antenna mount in place and just get some sort of suitable cap to cover the end of it --something hoepfully a little more cosmetically acceptable than the rubber tip of a chair leg or any other small electronic pice of equipment that mounts on an antenna mount but does not realy need to see the sky . Any ideas-and thanks for all of the help.

How about white MarineTex? Unless you console is brown http://thehulltruth.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif , you should be able to fill the holes, sand it down nice and smooth (finish w/ wet sanding), wax it and be on your way. Much easier than fiberglassing.

I vote small piece of starboard, edge beveled and held down with a dollup of 5200 so you will have no additional holes. Second thought is starboard cup holder. Third thought is fill and finish holes, otherwise finish washers and screws with 4200. A lot of options,Good luck D2

Use a little 4200 to glue down a Terry Bradshaw bubble head figure or the grass shirt babe. Really there is a world of things that could be put on top of the holes - maybe a couple of your favorite fishing lures?

I've seen this one a few times, but on the ground. Glue down some change - silver dollar, quater, nickel, dime. Just a thought.

I agree with GW, it's really not too difficult to fill that size hole with a sandable fairing compound. Marine tex works but I'd recommend something even easier to work with, something like the marine equivalent of Bondo. Sands easily and dries fast. You can take a piece of masking tape and stick it to the inside of the hole, then fill it slightly over and let it dry. After it hardens just remove the tape, sand it flush, and, if you want, touch it up with a matching shade of gelcoat. Really simple fix and completely different than doing a full blown fiberglass repair. Try the filler from interlux. It's white and super easy to sand.

Use a little 4200 to fill from the bottom up and leave the top 1/4", then use some gelcoat patch to restore the top to blend in with existing area. You can use the gelcoat patch to fix other scratches later.
