Default Raymarine C-Series and Radome Compatibility Question

I finally got the back-ordered C-80 display. (The radome came in two weeks ago.) Unfortunately, there's a statment in the display installation manual that says there is an upgrade needed for the NEW radome (if I'm reading the serial numbers correctly). The Raymarine website gave further information by saying that an internal modification is required. Specifially, the site says

For Serial Numbers prior to 1220001 the radome is NOT compatible with C-Series.

For Serial Numbers from 1220001 to 0530167,
The radome requires internal modification. Contact your local Raymarine Service agent or Technical Support for more information.

For Serial Numbers from 0530158 and UP
The radome is 100% C-Series compatible. (Isn't "UP" going TOWARD "1220001," and "0530167?")

My serial number is 0340818. Looking at the numbers and descriptions above, am I okay? It appears that these numbers are going DOWN as newer units are manufactured. Does Raymarine count DOWN on their serial numbers?

Thanks!

If you have a new Raydome it should say on the box C series compatible.

THANKS! After some hunting in the garage I found the box. It does have a small sticker that says "C-Series Compatable." Apparently when Raymarine writes "For Serial Numbers from 0530158 and UP The radome is 100% C-Series compatible," they really mean DOWN.

Thanks again!

Richard

Before you plug and play I would think a call to Raymarine would be prudent.
It can't hurt.

If the box says C-series compatible you should be fine. I had the same question because the way they describe the S/N is confusing. My SN was 140251. When I called support this meant 1 (Jan) 4 (2004) 0251 (acutal unit number) if I recall. Mine is working just fine.
