Default 2000 Merc 250 EFI w/ 75 hours and not run in a year

I'm moving from inboards to outboards and need some advice. I found a very clean 2000 with twin Merc 250 EFI's. This boat has not been run in over a year, but the fuel pump and injectors have been pulled and cleaned.

Any opinions on buying a boat with outboards that have sat this long. Is the 75 hours a positive or a negative? Thanks for the help.

get a mechanic

get a mechanic

get a mechanic

It is so hard to give you an informed answer without knowing what was done to prep the engine before it was put in storage.

75 hours is typical for someone who either wants to trade up to a bigger boat or decides that boating is not for them.

Seriously get a mechanic you trust. MAYBE you have a great deal in front of you.
