Default TR1 banging at low speed

I think tr1 autopilots are the best.I have never had a problem. A friend bought a used 2004 regulator this year and it works great on plane but at trolling speed he says its making an irratating banging from under the helm.Is this just air in system because he said the steering feels tight?

More than likely it is one of the hydralic lines vibrating that runs from the actuator to the engines. It is likely banging the inside of the pvc conduit that it is run through or against the side of the boat. I had the same thing on my GW when I was at idle speed. Stuffed some foam in there and it fixed it. Good luck.

Thanks skiphughes for the quick response.
Glad to help. I do believe that is your problem. Check the hydralic lines because somewhere they are vibrating and hitting the inside of the pvc conduit or side of the boat.
