Default Interphase Twinscope

I am thinking about getting the Twinscope. It's says that having a Twinscope is like having three units in one. It has a Forward Vertical Scan, Downward (Traditional View of Historical Bottom Chart), and Forward Side to Side Scan! Has anyone used this unit or know anything about it.

I have never used one myself, but most of the reviews I've seen on it called it disappointing.

I think that you really have to define the principle role for this device. Are you finding fish? Are you looking for obstructions to avoid? Etc. For forward looking sonar (FLS) do note that, at best, single frequency units like this are able to range no more than 6x water depth.

If you do a search, this topic was well covered by a bunch of people. In a nut shell though, the advice was to save your money.

Good advise. I had the Probe model 5 years ago. Toyish and a waste of money. They sound great on paper. Very had to interpert and gain confidence in.

I had a Twinscope. I bought it with great expectations. The end result was to finally get rid of the thing. If you want to tell how deep it is, it will do that. If you want to find fish, it is just about as useless as can be. Don't waste your money. Great idea but ...
