Default Flush mounting DS500X

Has anyone flush mounted this machine? The manual calls for a kit, but I can't seem to find anyone who has it. The manual also says to remove the bracket mounts, but they are part of the back and don't look like they can be removed. However, when you put the machine against the flush mount template, the bracket mounts do not fit within the designed cut out. Anyone have any ideas on the best way to flush mount this thing?

Default RE: Flush mounting DS500X

I was just looking at the unit at a boat show last weekend and asked that question.

You remove the whole back of the unit, which includes the bracket, I think there were 4 screws. It kinda looks like you would be opening the unit up, but don't worry, your not, it was built for that back panel to come off. Then you put the face of the unit in the cutout, then install the back panel from the rear. That easy. The install kit is probably just a rubber gasket to fit aroudn the hole to cushion the unit against the console... You could just use a small bead of silicone. I think the back panel is what holds the unit in the hole. But check that to be sure, as I said, I didn't do this, just asked and hte rep was explaining it to me.

Good luck. By the way, that looks like one hell of machine for the price.
