I just got an email saying 4/13 but I guess it's been pushed back many times.

I've been waiting to receive the 172C, impatiently. Two to 3 weeks of good fishing have past and still no 172. Has anyone considered the 182? Other than the significantly higher price and slightly larger screen on the 182, there doesn't appear to be a big difference.

To wait or not to wait, that is the question??????????

I have mine ordered from Yacht Jim. From what I've heard
he will get it to you as fast as he can.

Its a hold up on Garmins part.

Ordered mine via the 'net and yesterday's update was still "Mid April" shipping. Curious though: Upgrading from Map 76 and have Blue Chart. Thought I could download Blue Chart to the new unit. Unlike the 162, there is no open memory other than for what's pre-loaded on unit. Instead must purchase a blank data card(or pre-loaded card) which is same as with the 182. They are available in 8, 16, 32, MB etc. Priced 32MB at $75. That should be more than enough for a region's unlock code and all the waypoints you want, right? Serves me right for not checking out first. Thanks any info.

I just came back from the Bass Pro store in Maryland and the salesperson told me that it is supposed to be there by the end of next week.
I'm getting mine from Yacht Jim when they come in,,,,I dont think you will beat his price....

Thanks cgrand. Since each card is x 2 and price is only $20 over previous half meg, figure go for highest practical. Delivered price quoted to me is $565 without data card. Does "Yacht Jim" beat this price? Still time since not shipped(just like everybody else.)

savgeorge,,,,,

Sorry about that,,,,Yachtjims price was the cheapest I saw up until your posting.
Dont know if your getting the internal antenna though...
YachtJim website says discount price is 567+shipping for external antenna and 549 +shipping for the internal antenna.

Let me know where you got your price, I would appreciate it....

Joe,
Ordered the internal for $554.95 plus $10.43 ups ground shipping(total $565.38) at marine-electronics-unlimited.com. Price for external is $574.95. Looks like Yacht Jim beats the price unless they are high on shipping. I'll probably stick to my order for the $5 difference.

Thanks,

Got tired of waiting for the 172 C. and ordered the 182 C. something just doesn't sound right with the release date. I hope everyone the best of luck with their 172 I hope there is nothing wrong with the new hardware especially the new type screen.
