Default Navman trackfish 6500

My Navman 6500 chart plotter / fish finder has developed a fault, I only get vertical lines across the screen. Any advice please.

I would check the obvious first and that is that you have a quality 12v supply and good ground. Otherwise, send it/bring it back for service because one of the boards has likely failed.

I have one on a trophy 2352 with a through hull and the depth finder has never worked right and now the GPS died, tried just about everything short of tearing it out (next steps) and replacing it with something works (anything but navman northstar)

Bayliner would not help me and just gave excuses, try to find customer support for navman / northstar here in the US, its their but, $150 for evaluation, $350 if they find something wrong, and then you have to replace the transducer if the head unit is OK (could nearly purchase a new unit).

If Navman / Northstar would like to contact me to discuss, I would be happy (but surprised, I love surprises). Basically thelp that I got from their help line is (update the software, purchase a new transducer and hang it over the side to see if that fixes it (not bad idea, but another $150-$200 for the test), change the DGPS on the GPS to "off"), thats all folks.

So, if one of you know of a system that will fit in the in-dash hole the size of the 6500 it would be very helpful. Or, Navman/Northstar, a little help here? after 2.5 years I am getting tired of the excuses and lack of customer support from both Bayliner and now Navman/northstar

At the end I would prefer to have the 6500 as it looks like a nice device, has good ratings, etc... I just want it to work
