Default My electronics went dead!!!

I cannot get my elctronics to come on!!!! Please look at the pic and see if you can see a problem.






What do you think the problem is????

you should be using wire for all your electrical needs, not rope. rope is not a good conductor.

The battery cables look OK. Have you checked the fuses?

Wouldn't have plywood that close to my battery... not recommended. I agree, check the fuses.

This was actually a customer of ours that came in for us to troubleshoot the electronics coming and going. The owner also has his bow thruster on this same battery. The bow thruster would not work but the electronics would come and go. Sadly enough they had already been to another boatyard and they could not figure the problem out. They actually started replacing electronics thinking that they were bad.
If you look closely the cables only had about 15 to 20 strands still connected. When we cut the ends of the cables off the cable was still good.

wingnuts on the terminals no less. Guess they couldnt loosen up with all of that corrosion.

That Trojan battery is also slightly leaking around the terminal. That's the biggest cause of that mess.

I find it hard to believe that the corrosion hasn't run way back up that cable already.

It's also amazing that this wasn't caught by the other repair service, but then I've seen plenty of companies that charge $90hr and then stick a guy on it that they pay $8hr and they don't know "Jack".

Leaking acid at terminal, non tinned wire, wingnuts yep need new electronics package
