Having issues downloading data from 3210

I have a 16 MB garmin data card and a reader. The card fits in the slot and the 3210 recognizes it. When I go to download the waypoints, I am getting an error saying it can not download. I unchecked everything besides waypoints just to keep the data to a min.
I am on my laptop and plugged it into the card reader and it says there is no data.
The little portective tabs on the chip are in tact, so it is not protected.
Am I missing something? The card was originally used on my 182. Do I need to reformat it? If so, how?
Thanks

Make sure you have your "Grid" in MapSource (under Edit-->Preferences-->Position) and your "Position Format" (under Units) on your 3210 set the same.

I udpated the Mapsource on my laptop. I wanted to see if the card works. The program recognizes the card. When I went to download info from the card, it says that there is no data on the card. When I go to download waypoints from one of my files, it starts and then says Mapsource has encountered a problem and must shut down. This is frustrating. Drove 2 hours to get to the boat....

You may also need to reformat the memory card to the 3210's data type, then copy the waypoints to the card using MapSource, then re-insert the card into the 3210 and upload.

Got it....Had to erase the chip and start over. Guess it did not like whatever I had on it.
