Default SmartCraft Gauges

I recently had the Mercury SmartCraft gauges (tachs, speedo, aux fuel guage) installed to work with my 2002 Optimax engines. Everything worked fine for a while but the last time I was out, the gauges all of a sudden stopped registering available fuel (both speedo + aux fuel gauge went from saying 100+ gal to zero). I checked wires to sending unit on tank and everything looked fine. I've also shut done completely and turned battery switches off and then started back up but nothing changes. I know that there is a way to re-set the guages but does doing this require me to set-up everything (e.g. total fuel capacity, etc) from scratch (I had dealer do this initially)?

check the connections going into the gauges and make sure the harnesses are supported, and not "hanging" from the gauges. Also where the tank sensor connects tot he harness. Read the entire smartctaft op guide for the system at mercmarine.com - smartcraft/technical docs

a master reset will require you to calibrate everything again but you need to know how to do that anyway - takes all of 5 minutes...never be at the mercy of the dealer to know something you should know anyway...

The paddle speed and fuel circuits go into the same connector that may be in the bilge laying in water. I have no idea why Merc ever did this, but the connector was later moved up under the cowl. Find that connector and maybe you find your problem.
